Newcastle already had four scheduled live TV games in the opening two months of the Championship and now Sky Sports/EFL have announced the schedule for October and November.
A bit of a surprise/relief for match going fans as only the shortest trip of the season has been moved for TV in October/November, Newcastle now playing on Sunday 20 November at 1.15pm, rather than the original Saturday 19 November 3pm kick-off.
Also below, is the EFL info as to when they will announce the rest of the Championship live TV games over the course of the rest of the season.
The original four were:
Friday 5 August 7.45pm Fulham v Newcastle United
Saturday 27 August 5.30pm Newcastle United v Brighton
Saturday 10 September 5.30pm Derby County v Newcastle United
Saturday 24 September 5.30pm Aston Villa v Newcastle United
Whilst those added today up to the end of November are:
Sunday 20 November 1.15pm Leeds United v Newcastle United
As for the rest of the season, this is what the EFL advise will be the schedule for letting fans know in advance about the future live TV games:
‘Remaining TV Selection Dates 2016/17 (Illustrative but subject to five-week commitment):
Clubs notified of selections for December to first week in January 2017 by 30 September;
Clubs notified of selections for remainder of January by 30 October;
Clubs notified of selections for February by 30 November;
Clubs notified of selections for first week in March on Monday 9 January following FA Cup Third Round;
From 1 February, 2017 a five-week rolling selection commences for matches up to and including the penultimate weekend;
Clubs notified of selections for the final day made following the completion of the penultimate round of matches.’
