Fans take no prisoners with Newcastle v Huddersfield player ratings
The Newcastle v Huddersfield player ratings as voted by United fans.
Newcastle started off their Championship campaign with a defeat but were there any other positives?
What did the Newcastle supporters make of each player on the pitch?
Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 6pm Sunday.
Well first of all the positives, won’t take long…
Half-time sub Matt Ritchie was once again a class above the rest, despite not training all week. His mark of 6.5 was followed in a very distant second place by Chancel Mbemba (4.8).
Daryl Janmaat (4.2) and Jonjo Shelvey (4.4) were the only ones to reach 4.0 or higher.
At the other end of the scale, three of the starting eleven stood out.
Rolando Aarons (2.7) had a shocker in the first half and was dragged off at the break, whilst Vurnon Anita (2.8) and Paul Dummett (2.9) must be wondering how they stayed on the pitch. Substitute Ayoze Perez (2.9) carried on his form at Fulham when given the final quarter of an hour.
The other six players can take little comfort that they weren’t rated as poor as those four who scored under 3.0.
