Newcastle are set to sign Tottenham defender DeAndre Yedlin, with the defender arriving in Newcastle on Tuesday afternoon for his medical.

The player was pictured arriving at Newcastle Airport (see below).

The 23 year old right-back can also play right midfield and as a wing-back and is  surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.

Arriving 18 months ago from Seattle Sounders, Yedlin has played only 11 minutes of football for the North London club and didn’t make either of the Tottenham matchday squads so far this season.

DeAndre Yedlin went out on loan to Sunderland last season and made 23 Premier League appearances but is up for sale for £4m according to various media.

Aston Villa were claimed to have already bid for the player with Hull and Derby also credited with interest in the defender, who already has 39 caps for the United States.

As often appears to be the case, Spurs have a surplus of options at full-back and need to trim their squad.
