Xisco finds yet another new club
Xisco has found yet another club willing to take him on.
The Spanish striker was a quite disastrous signing, even by Newcastle standards, with Dennis Wise in summer 2008 deciding he was worth £6m of Newcastle United’s money – plus reported £50,000 a week wages.
A Newcastle career included a massive three league starts and one goal, plus you might be surprised to learn that he even turned out in the last Championship season – making two brief substitute appearances before heading off to Racing Santander on loan.
Newcastle United managed eventually to part company permanently with Xisco in 2013 and last season he was in the Spanish second tier with Cordoba.
Now 30, the forward scored 11 goals last season as Cordoba finished fifth but missed out on promotion to La Liga via the play-offs, Cordoba losing 4-3 to Girona in the two-legged play-off semi-final, Xisco contributing all three Cordoba goals.
His latest venture sees Xisco travel to Thailand in search of glory, joining Muangthong United.
The Thai side last won the title four years ago and hope the one-time Newcastle striker will be the missing link to help them as them finish top of Thailand’s top division.
