Wednesday afternoon has seen another 3 Live TV games announced for Newcastle United.

Already playing live on Sky on Friday 5 August at Craven Cottage, these are the further matches that have been added to the TV schedule and announced today.

Newcastle v Brighton Saturday 27 August 5.30pm

Derby County v Newcastle Saturday 10 September 5.30pm

Aston Villa v Newcastle Saturday 24 September 5.30pm

Thankfully Newcastle have managed to avoid the Sunday lunchtime slot, as well as any more Friday night ones (up to the end of September anyway).

All three revealed today, stay on the original date but now with a 5.30pm kick-off.

Along with the Fulham opening day match, it means four of Newcastle’s nine opening Championship fixtures are live TV games.

Sky Sports and the EFL have published a timetable of live TV release dates for this season, with the aim of trying to minimise disruption for match-goers:

The EFL and Sky Sports timetable (though today’s announcement was originally supposed to happen on Friday 8 July before being moved back until today) of when Live TV games will be announced for the Championship, taking us right up until the last couple of months of the season:

1 Oct 2016 to 5 Nov 2016 (announced Fri 5 Aug 2016)

19 Nov 2016 to 2 Jan 2017 (announced Fri 30 Sept 2016)

14 Jan 2017 to 28 Jan 2017 (announced Sun 30 Oct 2016)

1 Feb 2017 to 25 Feb 2017 (announced Wed 30 Nov 2016)

Their pledge is…

“EFL/Sky will endeavour to keep to these dates as best they can but some logistical issues may mean in some cases selections are delayed by a day or two. However a minimum of five weeks notice will always be given.”
