Moussa Sissoko has been given a further 11 days holiday by Rafa Benitez.
The Newcastle boss revealing that the midfielder is due back at St James Parkon Monday 1 August.
Moussa Sissoko was given the extra time off after his involvement at Euro 2016, right through to the final.
Much has been said of course whilst the player has been away from Tyneside, with Sissoko himself having plenty to say.
Yet again he used his latest interview (with France Football) to repeat that he sees his talents as not suited to the Championship, believing he deserves a move to ‘play with big players and in top level matches’.
Though the vast majority of Newcastle fans don’t expect to see Moussa Sissoko in a black and white shirt ever again (with fellow want away star Gini Wijnaldum set to sign for Liverpool), Rafa Benitez insists ‘We will see him on the first of August….then we will go from there’.
Monday 1 August also happens to be when Newcastle United have their open day, including a public training session.
Obviously it would be very interesting to see Moussa Sissoko taking part in that and of course the reaction from supporters.
Rafa Benitez talking to the Chronicle:
“Moussa Sissoko is due to report back on August 1.
“He will report back like everybody else has and then we will go from there.
“We will see him on the first of August but until then, it is not really worth talking about anything because he is not here.”
