Papiss Cisse uses Twitter to get message across to Newcastle fans after his sale

Papiss Cisse officially left Newcastle United on Saturday morning, the Senegalese striker went missing from training at the end of last week and now the club has confirmed he’s joined Shandong Luneng.

Leaving for an undisclosed fee, Papiss Cisse has now used his Twitter account to send some messages of love out to the Newcastle supporters.

The striker talks of ‘some great times together’ and is counting on Rafa delivering more in the near future.

Papiss Cisse also said he wanted to ‘record my thanks and appreciation for the Newcastle fans’ and says he will be back among us one day ‘as a supporter’.

The departing striker saying every goal that he scored in the ‘famous Number 9 shirt’ was for the fans.

Papiss Cisse via Twitter:

“I want to put on record my thanks and appreciation for the Newcastle fans.

“I will never forget them as long as I live and will be back as a supporter alongside them one day.

“Every goal I scored in that famous Number 9 shirt was for them.

“I hope that the team are quickly back in the Premier League.

“We had some great times together and hopefully under Rafa those times will return.”
