Moussa Sissoko is due to rejoin the rest of Newcastle United’s squad next Monday (1 August) but very few supporters expect that to be the case.
Various media claim that a deal will happen before then and an exclusive from France today suggests that a move could be getting closer to reality.
Le10sport say that their information is that rather than approaching Newcastle United first, two clubs have made offers to the player’s representatives first.
The French media organisation saying that the clubs want to make sure they can satisfy Sissoko’s personal demands before then negotiating a transfer fee.
The two clubs are said to be Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp’s previous and current clubs.
Dortmund of course can offer Moussa Sissoko Champions League football, something which Liverpool can’t after losing in the Europa League final.
However, the Newcastle midfielder has already indicated his preference is to stay in England – even if it is not at St James Park.
Hopefully any deal can be concluded quickly, whatever the truth or not of this Le10sport exclusive, as the circus surrounding Sissoko can’t be helping Rafa Benitez as he prepares for the Championship kick-off in 11 days time.
