Newcastle United have received an offer for young midfielder Sean Longstaff.
Dundee United approached the club with a season long loan deal but the Chronicle report that Newcastle have turned it down.
Sean Longstaff turns 19 in October and has came through the youth set-up at United, scoring freely for the Under 21s/Under 18s as an attacking midfielder in 2014/15 but scored only two goals last season when used in a more defensive midfield position
Signing a new two year deal recently, it will be interesting to see where the young Geordie ends up, with Newcastle being increasingly proactive in getting young players out on loan for first team football.
Interesting that it was Scottish Premier League side Dundee United showing an interest, as that is where Newcastle United coach Ian Cathro first made his name when in charge of youth development there.
Cathro being the only one of Steve McClaren’s backroom staff to survive when the Head Coach was relieved of his duties in March.
