Newcastle United are considering a move for Isaac Hayden according to reports on Tuesday morning.

The 21 year old central defender is still to make his Premier League debut for Arsenal but has played a couple of League Cuo matches for the Gunners.

Like numerous other players at the Emirates, Isaac Hayden was sent out on loan last season and helped Hull City win promotion.

The young defender played 18 times in the Championship, plus six times in the cups.

However, only nine of those Championship appearances were in the starting 11, suggesting he was brought in more as back-up for Hull’s first choice defence.

The Shields Gazette say that their information is that Newcastle are looking at a possible loan deal but it is likely Arsene Wenger would look for some guarantees of regular football before agreeing to another temporary move.

With Mike Williamson and Steven Taylor leaving, plus Coloccini wanting to go back to Argentina, Newcastle are in need of at least one new signing at centre-half.
