John Carver has been speaking about his latest challenge.

Appointed as Manager of AC Omonoia Nicosia in Cyprus, Carver says that this is the ‘high level which coincides with my own profile as a coach’.

John Carver says that it is a ‘great club with a great tradition’.

Summing up his commitment to the post, the former Newcastle Head Coach says that he ‘did not come here for a holiday’.

“I got the opportunity to come to a great club with a great tradition, with values and ideals.

“Omonoia is a high level which coincides with my own profile as a coach.

“The priority is to realise our goals and to restore the club to where it deserves to be.

“We want to create something that fans, players and everybody at Omonoia will be proud of.

“Omonoia was the right choice for me and my coaching career.

“It is an important role, plus I have a very good working relationship with Nikos Dabizas, as well as the (personal)  understanding that exists between us.

“I am a few days into working with the group, but from the first moment I have enjoyed it. I am happy with the work that my players do. Day by day I learn more and more.

“I did not come here for a holiday. I came to have success. This is something that everyone wants at the club.”
