News today that former Newcastle defender Peter Ramage has been awarded his UEFA A Coaching License.

In the coaching hierarchy, UEFA A follows UEFA B and then the only one above that, is the UEFA Pro Licence.

Now 32, Peter Ramage last season signed for Coventry City until the end of the campaign but finished the season on loan at Leyton Orient.

Local lad Ramage came through the ranks at Newcastle and epitomised the type of player who was wholehearted but not quite good enough for the very top level.

Making 51 Premier League appearances for Newcastle United, Peter Ramage was released at the end of his contract in summer 2008. Moving to QPR, before later spells at Crystal Palace, Coventry, Barnsley and Birmingham.

In 2015, Ramage also had a short spell out in India playing for Kerala Blasters.

Interesting that he has got to such a high coaching level already at this stage of his playing career, so it will be interesting to see what his next move is this summer after his release from Coventry.

Good luck to whatever Peter Ramage does in the future.
