Should it be Vurnon Anita or Daryl Janmaat who plays at right-back v Aston Villa?
Daryl Janmaat was arguably Newcastle’s player of the year last season but like most of his team-mates has struggled this time around.
Indifferent form and his national manager suggesting Janmaat wanted to be in the ‘shop window’ ahead of a potential move this summer, led to a slide in affection for the player within the general mess at St James Park.
Injured off at Southampton, Janmaat was replaced at right-back by Vurnon Anita for the visit of Swansea and he has really stepped up to the mark.
The last four games have seen Newcastle remain unbeaten and pick up eight points, whilst Anita grabbed the equaliser against Manchester City and an assist for the Cisse goal at Anfield.
If back to his best form, Daryl Janmaat is undoubtedly a big asset and for most of the past two seasons it was he and Moussa Sissoko down the right hand side, who had provided most of what threat there was from this Newcastle team.
So the question is, would you pick Vurnon Anita or Daryl Janmaat to play at right-back on Saturday at Villa Park?
