So Aston Villa away on Saturday – now any reasonable thinking supporter of any other reasonably run club would be thinking – it’s Villa, an easy 3 points and a happy journey home…

Me? I just can’t help thinking that if Villa were going to win another game all season it would be against us.

Now Aston Villa supporters aren’t much different from Newcastle fans…full of dreams and history, taunting away fans when being relegated…like we did to Birmingham at St Andrew’s.

The only difference being that we are now playing with passion and belief unlike Villa.

Come 3pm on Saturday at an almost eerily empty Villa Park, Newcastle fans will hope Rafa has instilled the passion and belief once more and the threat of flabby Gabby or Ayew putting a couple past us looking unlikely.

HOWEVER, we are Newcastle United and there is always…ALWAYS, that niggling doubt that we never make things easy for ourselves – but as long as we put in a performance and the effort is there along with passion, the result matters not.

The thought of us winning at Villa and Sam Allardyce’s team down the road dropping points, along with the Canaries, makes us believe.

As always though, being Newcastle fans, it’s not the results that kill us, it’s the hope!
