Leicester City’s stunning season came to a climax on Monday night when they won their first ever top division title.
When Chelsea made that two goal second half comeback and rescued a draw against Tottenham, it meant that Leicester became the 24th English club to win the title (Premier League/First Division).
So when it comes to the most successful English clubs of all time, where does this put Leicester?
Taking into account only clubs who have won a league title, Leicester are joint 20th in terms of most successful, having won three League Cups as well as the Premier League.
Liverpool remain the most successful ever with 41 trophies, whilst Manchester United are two behind, with Arsenal a further 10 back in third.
As for Newcastle United, despite it being a ‘few’ years since the last success, Newcastle are in ninth place with 11 trophies – 4 league titles, 6 FA Cups and the European Fairs Cup triumph.
Sunderland are four places further back with three less trophies.
