Arsene Wenger reveals new Arsenal injury – improves Newcastle player’s Euros chance

Arsene Wenger gave his latest press conference on Friday morning and had news of an Arsenal injury setback.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was on his way back from injury but has now got a knee problem that will see him out for up to two months.

Arsene Wenger saying:

“There is no chance of the Euros for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He will be back at the beginning of July.”

The Arsenal boss said that he hadn’t even as yet got around to informing Roy Hodgson that the winger was one player he could cross off his list possibles/probables for France next month.

The Euros run from 10 June to 10 July and everybody is waiting to see who makes the cut later this month.

Andros Townsend has been in outstanding form for Newcastle and has scored four goals and grabbed a few assists in only 10 starts for the relegation battlers.

Despite that, Oxlade-Chamberlain was one of those still ahead of Townsend in the betting to make Roy Hodsgon’s squad, despite not having played for three months due to injury up to this point.

Andros Townsend has insisted that England and the Euros (4/1 available on Townsend making the squad) is far from his mind but considering the form he is in playing for a bottom four team AND the fact rivals such as Theo Walcott (no PL start for nine weeks) and Raheem Sterling (three PL starts in three months) are not even getting a game….
