Andros Townsend has been shortlisted alongside Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane for the PFA player of the month award for April.

An ‘expert panel’ (includes Paul Merson, Peter Beagrie and Ian Holloway) produces a shortlist of contenders. Fans are then able to vote for the player they think deserves the award. One voting fan will win the chance to meet and present the award to the PFA Player of the Month.

If Newcastle United do end up surviving then the January signing of Andros Townsend will have been key in that.

In only 10 starts, the former Spurs winger has scored four goals, three of them in April, plus he also got two assists last month.

Saturday’s stunning free-kick against Crystal Palace the difference between the two sides.

The impressive form has led to many people, including Gary Lineker, talking of Townsend making a late bid for Roy Hodgson’s Euros squad, especially with the likes of Sterling and Walcott failing to impress in recent times.

The full PFA shortlist is below and to vote for Andros Townsend go HERE.
