A bit later than normal, we at last now ‘know’ what the three Newcastle United shirts for the new season will look like (see below).
Usually the home shirt is launched just before the final home game of the previous season but that didn’t happen this time, instead the home shirt is reportedly set to go into UK shops in July.
After a few designs did the rounds we understand that this one below with gold trim is the real deal.
At the moment, Puma are heavily promoting the upcoming Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund strips that they also are responsible for but not a single official mention as to when any Newcastle one will be available or what it will look like.
There hadn’t even been any ‘leaked’ images until recent days, which is usually the case well before the end of the season.
However, these second and third strip Newcastle United shirts below have also now been appearing in various places online, alongside what we understand is definitely the new home strip and at this (relatively) late stage, it looks pretty nailed on that these will be the three that the players will be wearing as the Rafalution kicks off in the Championship!
Sadly Wonga is once again set to feature as this is the final year of their shirt sponsorship, although it won’t be on the new 2016/17 kids’ strips that are sold as the legal loan shark were forced to accept that this was inappropriate after sustained pressure.
