Rafa Benitez has issued a stark warning to his players.

Explaining to them that ‘failure affects the CV’, Rafa has told the squad that if Newcastle end up going down, they are mistaken if they think there aren’t any consequences for them.

The Newcastle boss explaining to some that their performance for United will not impress clubs that they might have thought they’d end up at if leaving St James Park.

Whilst for others, Rafa Benitez says that they could then be forced into moves where they end up playing at smaller clubs in front of smaller crowds and have to deal with the hassle of uprooting their families.

As Benitez simply puts it: ‘They lose value’.

Rafa Benitez definitely gets it when he talks about the special nature of playing in front of so many passionate fans at Newcastle when things are going well.

That is what all our players should be aspiring to in the future now that they have at last got a manager who knows what he is doing.

Rafa Benitez speaking ahead of Norwich:

“It will not be easy to say..‘Oh I will go.’

“It is not easy when you are not doing well at your job to get a better one.

“They lose value – players lose value. I don’t think that anyone wants to go down because then it will be negative for everyone if we go down.

“It is difficult but at the same time it’s very simple. They know that we are responsible for the situation.

“We are professionals, failure affects the CV. Then there’s the money, moving family, everything. My players want to stay in the Premier League.

“To feel the passion of the fans supporting you here when you are doing well is something they maybe won’t find at other places.

“We have players here who have been in football for a while.

“The other day I had a conversation with two of them and it is not necessary to explain too many things, such as…“So they know how important it is to stay in the Premier League.”
