The Newcastle team v Swansea to get United vital win

Here is the Newcastle team v Swansea that can keep United still in the survival game.

Rafa Benitez has indicated that he is thinking of making changes but what difference can he make with this group of players?

It must be a no-brainer to put Dummett in at left-back, he isn’t top quality but compared to playing Vurnon Anita there…

Jonjo Shelvey has been fighting a lone battle in the middle of the pitch and I also think it will be a no-brainer for Rafa Benitez to put Jack Colback alongside the former Swansea player.

They were in there together when Newcastle produced their best football of the season against West Ham in the 2-1 home win and more of the same would do very nicely.

With Daryl Janmaat out today and likely to be for the rest of the season (my gut instinct), Rafa Benitez needs to find a solution on that side of the pitch.

In a game where the Newcastle boss will be looking to ramp up the energy and pace in his team, I can’t believe he can contemplate playing Anita.

I never thought I would ever say this but today is maybe the time when we have to welcome Gabriel Obertan back into the team.

I can see him and Moussa Sissoko producing a potentially (if they can both be bothered…) hard working right hand side that could complement Townsend on the left.

Mitrovic is an obvious starter but whether to play Cisse, Wijnaldum or Perez is a difficult one as they have all let the side down in recent games.

Wijnaldum to start and at least we have then options such as Perez and Cisse (and Doumbia?) who could potentially change things from the bench.

My Newcastle team v Swansea:

To create the image above, Sam Hepworth used the NUFC team selector.

You can do the same by following the simple instructions HERE and then there are a number of great options where you can then also share your team via Twitter (include @nufcthemag in your tweet and we will share some of them with our 18k followers) , or you can share the selector on Facebook with friends, family and the rest of the black and white world. Alternatively, simply downloading the team image to the device you are using

When using the NUFC team selector you simply click on what team formation (4-3-3, 4-4-2 etc) you want, then click each position on the pitch and choose from the Newcastle United squad.

Go to the NUFC team selector now and choose and share your Newcastle team v Swansea.

Before every match, simply go to the menu at the top of this screen and click features, then on the drop down list click NUFC Team Selector and choose your team for every match.
