I am starting to believe again

Dare I say it, I am starting to believe again.

Not that we will stay up, it’s too late, we had our chances…blew them and coasted too long.

But there is a good core in our team, strip our ‘stars’ out and along with other Newcastle fans I am actually quite happy.

Vurnon Anita stated when he signed that he didn’t want to play full-back and is now doing a stellar job in his natural position.

Honestly, I thought when Janmaat was injured, that was it. Our last bit of attacking threat gone – nope turns out you need a defender there!

Our central defence looks really very good, I hope Colo is gone and counting his money in Argentina, there is no place in our team for him.

Our midfield looks balanced and the fact Jonjo Shelvey can’t get a game, is a testament to the Ginger Geordie and the Tiote of old.

We look so much more balanced and regardless of what happens, I think we are getting a good spirit in our camp and a platform to build on for the future.

I hope Rafa Benitez stays, his methods are amazing and Newcastle fans are right to sing his name for ninety minutes.

Now just get Adam Armstrong back and scoring twenty goals a season for us…
