Hatem Ben Arfa is ‘exceptional’ and better than both Messi and Ronaldo.
That is the opinion of Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho who faced Hatem Ben when with PSG in Ligue 1, as well as for the scousers against Newcastle.
Sakho has also been part of the same international set-up and the Liverpool defender has commented as debate rages yet again in France, as to whether Hatem Ben Arfa should make it into the squad to try and win the Euros on home soil this summer.
Sakho speaking to beIN sports:
“I have faced Messi and I have faced Cristiano Ronaldo, but I have always said that the player who impressed me the most was Hatem Ben Arfa.
“What he does on the pitch, it’s exceptional.”
With 16 goals in Ligue 1 this season with Nice, the winger/playmaker is hot property.
He helped his club to a 1-1 draw on Friday against rivals Lyon, the pair now second (PSG) and fourth, separated by only two points.
Hatem Ben Arfa only signed a one year contract and a host of clubs are queuing up for his services this summer.
Canal+ had an exclusive this weekend where they claimed that their information was that PSG was the preference for the player himself.
Amongst the other clubs said to have registered an interest are Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Lyon.
The French club are the only ones to go public with their interest, saying that they know they need to qualify for the Champions League to realistically hope to attract Hatem Ben Arfa.
Ironically something that the former Newcastle player could deny them, if Nice can get into a Champions League spot at Lyon’s expense.
