Steve McClaren has met the media on Friday afternoon ahead of the Bournemouth match.

With 11 games to go, Newcastle are desperate for a win but the Head Coach has revealed that two key United players will not be available.

Steve McClaren confirming that both Chancel Mbemba and Fabricio Coloccini will not be fit enough for his matchday squad tomorrow.

With a nine day gap before the Leicester away match, it remains to be seen if they will be in line to return by then.

However, two players who will be available for selection are Vurnon Anita and Siem de Jong, the pair of them having got a practice match under their belts when they part of a Newcastle eleven who lost 3-1 to a Hartlepool reserve side on Wednesday.

One player where there is no conclusion ahead of Bournemouth is Andros Townsend.

Steve McClaren saying that the winger will only play if fully fit and they are not willing to risk him otherwise, suggesting that he will have a late fitness test before tomorrow’s game.

The winger has a hamstring injury and McClaren said he was left out against Stoke because he needs to be at 100% and able to play at full pace to play in his position.
