Official Newcastle United statement confirms new deals offered to 11 young players
Newcastle United have tonight confirmed that 11 young players have been offered a scholarship at the club.
After leaving school this summer, the future stars of NUFC will join Newcastle United full-time in July and be based at the Little Benton Academy complex.
Good luck to all of them and hopefully we will see one or two in the first team one day.
Newcastle United official statement:
‘Eleven teenagers have been offered scholarships at Newcastle United’s Little Benton Academy.
The young players will join the Magpies on a full-time basis in July after leaving school in the summer.
They include Lewis Gibson, whose older brother, Liam, has broken into the first team set-up in recent weeks.
Lewis, 15, made his Barclays Under-21 Premier League debut as a substitute against Derby County at the end of January.
Matty Longstaff, the younger brother of another Newcastle teenager, Sean, has been offered a scholarship too.
Also joining the Academy are Thomas Allan, Kieren Aplin, Lewis Cass, Isaac Gamblin, Jack Robson, Kurtis Russell, Ollie Walters, Kelland Watts and Adam Wilson.
The Club welcomes all of the new scholars to the Academy and wishes them well for the next two years and beyond.’
