Newcastle v Manchester City had originally been scheduled for Sunday 28 February at St James Park.

However, the game was postponed after Manchester City reached the Capital One Cup final against Liverpool, which they won at Wembley.

Representing Newcastle’s game in hand on a number of teams including Norwich (Sunderland have an outstanding game against Everton still to arrange at home), a new date has now been found.

Manuel Pellegrini will now bring his team to Tyneside for the Newcastle v Manchester City clash on Tuesday 19 April – with a 7.45pm kick-off.

No explanation as to why Newcastle have once again chosen a Tuesday instead of their traditional Wednesday night midweek slot – the match falling between a home game against Swansea on Saturday 16 April and then away at Liverpool on Saturday 23 April.

The match was originally due to be screened live on Sky Sports and NUFC have confirmed that this remains the case.
