It is time to scrap the need for a membership before Newcastle fans are allowed to buy away tickets.

Great to hear Newcastle are reducing the ticket costs at home games for under 18s.

Hopefully with this and the re-introduction of the singing section, we can get St James Park rocking and sold out for every game.

However, my concern is away games.

Most people will have noticed our away allocations keep getting smaller (ED: Only had half the away section at Everton and Newcastle knocked back half the allocation at Chelsea this Saturday) and on some occasions we don’t even sell out.

The main culprit in this is the unfair membership charge of £35 per season (ED: If you aren’t a season ticket holder, you have to pay for a year’s membership before you can buy a single away ticket).

Why should fans who attended occasional matches (maybe only one) have to pay such a fee, come on Newcastle it’s time this was scrapped so we can see our away ends packed out again.

Our neighbours down the road don’t do this so let’s change things for next season.
