Steve McClaren has given his pre-Everton press conference.

The Newcastle boss giving updates on the availability, or otherwise of four of his players.

McClaren says that Paul Dummett has trained the last three or four days and is now fit and available, which makes it a pretty safe assumption that he will play Wednesday against Everton.

As for Jack Colback, the United Head Coach describes him as ‘very close’, though happily there is not as much urgency for him to return with Henri Saivet having come in, plus even the possibility of Cheick Tiote getting a start as he remains at the club still.

Kevin Mbabu has looking at the end of February before he will be back and potentially challenging for the left-back spot.

Whilst the third option at left full-back sees Massadio Haidara scheduled to be ‘back next month’.

As for the new signings, Andros Townsend is said by Steve McClaren ‘to have a good chance of starting’ with no fitness issues, the smart money surely on him going straight into the starting eleven.

A slightly different story on Seydou Doumbia, the on-loan striker surely looking at a place on the bench at best at Goodison Park, with even that in doubt as Steve McClaren confirmed today that the relevant visa still wasn’t in place allowing him to play yet.
