The one factor at Everton that proves just what a shambles Newcastle are under Mike Ashley

Newcastle United is a total shambles under Mike Ashley.

So many decisions being taken by all the wrong people for all the wrong reasons.

Last night’s latest disaster on the pitch at Everton is a new piece of evidence to add to the list, one factor in particular.

It must be obvious by now to any rational person, that Mike Ashley and his minions spend most of the time trying to make it appear that NUFC is a properly run club, rather than just getting on and doing exactly that.

Appointing Lee Charnley as the figurehead and then claiming that he has the authority to make important decisions is just laughable.

This season we have been sent emails to keep us in touch with what is happening at the club and to make us feel more valued and at the heart of Newcastle United…that is what we are supposed to believe anyway.

The reality of course is that the emails from Steve McClaren, Lee Charnley and whoever else, are quite clearly written by the club’s PR people.

The emails are an attempt to offset the fact that the club put all their PR out through the Mirror and Sky Sports, their media partners, disguised as news. Other media aren’t given access apart from the bare minimum that they have to do.

Coming back to Everton last night, it was too ridiculous for words.

Chancel Mbemba went down injured and instead of the experienced Steven Taylor, McClaren put on Jamaal Lascelles, who has only ever made one Premier League start.

Then half-time sees Paul Dummett off and the amazing sight of Rolando Aarons off the bench and played at left-back!

So rather than push Lascelles out to left-back and pair Steven Taylor with Coloccini, we put Aarons at full-back – clearly something is off here.

Clearly the only rational answer is that Steven Taylor didn’t come in because he was incapable of doing so. Just for show Steve McClaren/Mike Ashley includes Steven Taylor amongst his subs, a total waste of a place.

What woould have happened then if Newcastle had got a couple of injured defenders and so we’d have nobody to bring off the bench…Oh!!!

Just as bad, or even worse, is the fact that Seydou Doumbia arrives on Monday and 48 hours is on the bench. Hasn’t played a match for around 9 weeks and according to Steve McClaren pre-match, hasn’t trained either the last couple of weeks.

There was never the slightest intention of bringing Doumbia on, once again it was just done for show. Never mind him being in no position to influence the match, the chances of injury would have been sky high for the loan striker.

What if say Perez had got injured and then Mitrovic as well?

The other options would have been Gouffran and Darlow to play up front!

I think Emmanuel Riviere is shocking but at least he is a striker and fit again.

Rather than have a player that could be used, just like Steven Taylor, Doumbia was included in the squad for show.

The whole club is rotten and rather than getting in the best people to run it, we are instead left with puppets such as Charnley and McClaren to do Mike Ashley’s bidding.

No wonder the club finds itself in such trouble.
