Young rising Newcastle star Callum Roberts has won the Barclays Premier League Under 21s player of the month award for January.
The 18 year old winger scored twice in the win over West Brom Under 21s and has been in great personal form, even if the reserves continue to lose more than they win.
The South Shields born player turns 19 in April and will surely be looking to go out on loan in the near future to progress his career.
Just over a year ago, a then 17 year old Callum Roberts went on loan to Gateshead until the end of the season but went back to Newcastle after only three appearances as he struggled to hold down a place at the International Stadium.
Various people inside the club, including Peter Beardsley have talked highly of the young winger’s potential.
Hopefully this latest award will help give him an extra confidence boost.
