Watford 1 Newcastle 0, another painful exit from the FA Cup at the first attempt.
Steve McClaren may have played his first eleven, whilst Quique Sanchez Flores left four out – including star midfielder Capoue and top goalscorer Odion Ighalo, but the end result was the same.
One goal separating the two sides, just as it had been in the Premier League match earlier this season at St James Park.
On this occasion it was one-time Newcastle target Troy Deeney proving the difference between the two sides, finishing off Wijnaldum’s shocking back pass.
Steve McClaren (and some of his players) have talked about how dominant Newcastle were (see stats below) and how they deserved to win.
