Watch Newcastle loan striker’s 35 minute hat-trick here – Video

After a five week goal drought it was back to business for Newcastle loan striker Adam Armstrong against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

The 18 year old hit a 35 minute hat-trick to help Coventry City to a 4-0 lead at half-time AND he supplied the assist for the other goal!

A more pedestrian second-half saw Coventry cruise to victory, adding only one more to give a finishing score of 5-0 to the Sky Blues.

Amazingly Adam Armstrong had already hit five braces this season but had failed to convert any of them into a hat-trick.

Earlier this week Steve McClaren said he thought a deal was in place for Adam Armstrong to stay at Coventry until the end of the season but after yesterday’s win, Coventry manager Tony Mowbray said nothing had as yet been agreed.

The Geordie striker’s hat-trick features a cool penalty and them strikes with both right and left foot.

Obviously it is a big leap up to doing it in the Premier League but I don’t think I have ever seen another Newcastle player so at ease with either foot, especially when it comes to finishing!

Whilst Armstrong registered an assist for Coventry’s second goal, he can only take minimal credit for that when you see the quality of the strike in the footage below.

Enjoy Adam Armstrong’s excellent hat-trick.
