The Newcastle v Watford player ratings by United fans, gives us a perfect overview of yesterday’s match at Vicarage Road.

This latest defeat leaving the club still deep in relegation trouble.

Like so many games this season it was the same few names who played the best, according to the supporters.

Rob Elliot was man of the match with 6.9 from 10 (from fan ratings up to 12 noon on Sunday), whilst only three other players managed to get 5.0 or better.

On his first Premier League start Jamaal Lascelles impressed both with his defending and his towering header for the consolation goal, helping him get 5.8.

Whilst as usual Chancel Mbemba (5.2) and Daryl Janmaat were rated as amongst United’s top performers.

At the other end of things, sadly two players who came in against Watford to hopefully make the (positive) difference were two of the lowest rated in the first eleven.

Rolando Aarons with a rock bottom 3.5 and Henri Saivet with a little better 3.8.

Whilst Aleksandar Mitrovic once again didn’t look the answer to United’s goalscoring problems and was rated at only 3.6.
