Strike target has no interest in Newcastle and wants to go to Tottenham – Reports

Newcastle have been regularly linked with Michy Batshuayi, the 22 year old striker having been a real hit for Marseille in the 18 months he has been there.

This morning saw The Sun claim that Newcastle had already started talks with Marseille to bring the striker to Tyneside this month.

Batshuayi scored 9 Ligue 1 goals last season despite only starting 6 games (plus 20 as sub), then has followed that up with another 11 goals in 18 league starts (plus 1 as sub).

The respected Get French Football News rated the Belgian international as the 35th best player in France when they released their annual ratings of the 100 best players in France yesterday.

Now GFFN have rubbished The Sun’s claims and said that no offer has been made by Newcastle and there is no chance of him moving to Tyneside, or indeed anywhere in January.

Not surprisingly Michy Batshuayi is setting his sights higher than Newcastle and is most likely to join Tottenham in the summer according to GFFN’s information.

GFFN:

‘Contrary to rather vague reports in The Sun this morning might suggest, Marseille have yet to receive any offer from Newcastle for striker Michy Batshuayi.

While the Magpies are interested in the player, the player is not interested in them nor is he interested in a move this month.

At the time of writing, Tottenham remain favourites for the player’s signature in the summer, owing to their good relationship with Marseille president Vincent Labrune and their persistent contact with Batshuayi’s entourage.’
