Our old friend Harry Redknapp has picked his top eleven Premier League players from this weekend’s games.
From the 18 teams (Swansea v Watford play tonight), the out of work manager has chosen two Newcastle players after their starring roles against West Ham.
Maybe surprisingly though, neither of them is Jonjo Shelvey despite his excellent display and impact on the rest of the players, not to mention his role in both goals.
The full Harry Redknapp team of the weekend is below but the two Toon players he has chosen are Gini Wijnaldum and Fabricio Coloccini, the Newcastle Captain having one of his best games in a long time.
Check out the player ratings by the Newcastle fans here in comparison.
Harry Redknapp speaking to The Telegraph:
‘The title race is wide open. I haven’t looked at either Manchester City or Arsenal in the last few weeks and thought ‘phwoaar, what a fantastic side’.
They have both stumbled at various stages of the season and when City were without Sergio Agüero, they struggled.
Now he’s fit again, they have gone up a level, but Arsenal are the team to beat because they are leading the title race at the moment.
Here’s my team of the weekend, in a 4-3-1-2 formation.’
