Steve McClaren indicated there would be one or two changes to his Newcastle team v Watford due to ‘niggles’.

In the event the NUFC starting eleven v Watford shows only…one:

Elliot, Mbemba, Coloccini, Dummett, Janmaat, Sissoko, Tiote, Wijnaldum, Mbabu, Perez, Mitrovic

The United boss bringing in only Kevin Mbabu for Jack Colback, who McClaren said was struggling yesterday.

However, NUFC say that the team will line up in a 3-5-2 (5-3-2 or 4-6-0…?) with Janmaat and Mbabu as wing-backs.

On the bench:

Darlow, Sterry, Lascelles, Gouffran, Thauvin, de Jong, Toney

On the other hand, Watford have left out four, including Capoue and top scorer Idion Ighalo (phew!), though they are both on the bench.

Fabricio Coloccini:

“I want to play and be on the pitch, I want to be in the squad but it is the manager’s decision.

“When you look at the situation we’re now in, we have to put the Premier League first, but I think all the players want to play.”
