Yet another Newcastle match has been moved but for once it isn’t because of Sky Sports or BT Sport.
Instead it is because of something called a Cup Final…
Not quite sure what these are but apparently Manchester City have reached one.
After beating Everton 3-1 on Wednesday night, Man City have qualified 4-3 on aggregate and will play Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday 28 February in the League Cup final, the date they were due to travel to Tyneside for a noon kick-off against Newcastle on live TV.
There is no confirmation as yet of when Newcastle United v Manchester City will be played now, or indeed whether it will still be broadcast live.
This leaves Newcastle United’s upcoming schedule of matches looking like this:
Wednesday 3 February – Everton (away) 7.45pm
Saturday 6 February – West Brom (home) 3pm
Saturday 13 February – Chelsea (away) 5.30pm
Wednesday 2 March – Stoke (away) 7.45pm
Saturday 5 March – Bournemouth (home) 3pm
If things go badly in these next three matches then that 18 day gap before Newcastle travel to Stoke will be torture, let’s hope that the likes of new signings Shelvey and Townsend can inspire a change of fortunes…
