Newcastle fans were in a state of shock after the turnaround at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon but what about Spurs fans?
Tottenham totally dominated the first half and could and should have had the game won before the break.
However, United rallied in the second and improved as the second half went on, with the substitutes providing the two cherries on the cake.
So how did the Spurs fans take it?
Well they were all obviously disappointed/gutted/angry but they appear to fall into a number of differing categories as well.
Those who see that Tottenham are fated to lose to Newcastle (now three times in a row at White Hart Lane), those very angry at their own team’s shortcomings, those who doubt some of Pochettino’s decisions, those who think United were just jammy, whilst others just….hate Newcastle United!
We searched out the reaction of the Spurs fans via one of their top message boards ‘The Fighting Cock’.
‘I swear I was having this déjà vu the whole week. These c***s always up their game at WHL.’
‘We deserved that. It was obvious in the second half only Newcastle could win it. Our players can’t run themselves out of steam in the first half and then manage to cope in the second in my opinion.’
‘I swear Newcastle to us is like Crystal Palace is to Liverpool. Free points, get your free points here.’
‘Hopefully this is a wake up call to the team.’
‘What’s most annoying is that Newcastle are the softest side in the league and should’ve been as straightforward a 3 points as we’ll ever get!’
‘Great first half but we seemed to fade and Newcastle grew in confidence and snatched victory.
They seem to have our number at WHL at the moment, so no improvement from last year (and the year before).’
‘Mitrovic is such a f***ing c***, hate him.’
‘I have felt this all season. we play it safe when drawing games and time is ticking on. I’d much rather we went more for the 3pts than settle for 1pt, we always stick, never twist.’
‘OMG, how did that happen?’
‘Wonder if the unbeaten run was more of a burden. Whatever, the Geordies deserved it. We got out hustled and quite a few players under par, thought lamela was pretty good but not much else to discuss.’
‘We were pretty poor today, no cutting edge and then lose to such a poor team, it hurts.’
‘Pathetic! Absolutely terrible. No creativity whatsoever. We live off of set pieces and balls over the top. Shit crosses, shooting from 30 yards out, out coached, and letting in soft goals. No more mention of a top 4 until this team can actually beat teams it’s supposed to.’
‘De Jong was easily manageable by our defence but Perez is different gravy (and Mitrovic tbh).’
‘At some point we knew our tight arse transfer policy would hurt us.’
