Remy Cabella was making his 13th Ligue 1 appearance of the season on Thursday night at Rennes.

On loan from Newcastle and allegedly having already passed the tipping point where the deal will be made permanent, the winger/playmaker was still awaiting his first goal back in French football.

The wait is no more, as in his 13th attempt he has broken his duck, cutting in from left to right, Remy Cabella hits a very sweet shot from outside the box to put Marseille into the lead in the 21st minute.

This is his first goal in 11 months, with the last one in a 3-0 Newcastle win at Hull City. A day that also saw Sammy Ameobi and Yoan Gouffran score!!!

Earlier today we brought you Facundo Ferreyra’s first league goal in 26 months, which you can see HERE.
