Steve McClaren has given fans an update on five Newcastle injuries.
Tuesday afternoon saw the Newcastle boss giving his Everton press conference a little earlier than normal, four days before the game.
So maybe there will be more movement in that time but McClaren was happy to give news of four who are on their way back.
The Head Coach revealed that Jamaal Lascelles returned to training on Tuesday morning, which would appear to mean he has a chance of being involved on Saturday if selected.
Rolando Aarons is another on his way back but he won’t join in with training until the end of the week, meaning he surely won’t be considered for Everton.
Steve McClaren also said that Emmanuel Riviere will be back training next week, something which is at odds with claims by the Chronicle recently, saying the striker had been back in training and available for the past six weeks.
As for Steven Taylor, the Head Coach simply said he is ‘coming along well’.
As for Papiss Cisse, McClaren revealed that Monday’s scan was inconclusive and that the striker will be having another scan on his groin injury sustained in Saturday’s draw with Aston Villa. News which means there is surely no chance of him making Everton on Saturday.
