Michael Owen has given his verdict on the Newcastle v Everton clash this Boxing Day.
Owen says that his former club ‘disappointed’ him last Saturday when they failed to follow up the wins against Liverpool and Tottenham, with another against Villa.
The pundit says that he continues to be impressed with Everton’s football but points out that they are struggling to convert that into victories.
The visitors’ last win was five weeks ago against Villa, the only clean sheet they have kept in over three months.
However, Michael Owen is predicting the three points will be heading back to Merseyside.
Newcastle fans tend to believe that Michael Owen is quite happy to see his old club lose and this will be doubly so on Boxing Day, with Oven being a lifelong Everton fan.
Michael Owen speaking to BetVictor:
“After successive wins against Liverpool and Spurs the Magpies disappointed me against Villa last weekend.
“Everton continue to play well but can’t finish teams off and are struggling to keep a clean sheet.
“I’m looking forward to this game and think the Blues can get back to winning ways.”
