McClaren thought it couldn’t get any worse and along comes Harry Redknapp…
Two wins in 14 Premier League games and deep in relegation trouble, all that Steve McClaren needed was a vote of confidence from Harry Redknapp…
Newcastle United’s media partner The Mirror had claimed in recent days that the club were interested in replacing the United Head Coach with an out of work Harry Redknapp.
However, on Wednesday afternoon, the former Spurs boss has denied that Newcastle have made any contact.
Redknapp also says that United have got a ‘great manager’ already anyway and he’s sure Steve McClaren will get it right.
McClaren helped out at QPR under Harry Redknapp on a temporary basis when he was ‘in between job’ and Redknapp says that he was excellent after working at close quarters with him.
A reference from Harry Redknapp, what more could a struggling Premier League manager want…?
Harry Redknapp on Twitter:
“Not heard anything about Newcastle, they’ve got a great manager in Steve. I’ve worked with him, he’s excellent. I’m sure he’ll get it right.”
