Graham Stuart says he fully expects Everton to beat Newcastle as the game is ‘there for the taking’.

When comparing the two clubs, the former Toffees striker says he struggles to see many, if any, Newcastle players who would be good enough for the Everton squad.

Though he accepts that Newcastle’s results have been better in recent weeks, Graham Stuart thinks that if Everton get at United and score the first goal then the home players will find it very difficult in front of their own fans.

Despite Everton only winning two of their last 10 Premier League matches, Stewart believes they will be full of confidence.

Graham Stuart speaking to the official Everton website:

“We do need to win, not because we have been playing poorly but because of where we sit in the league.

“I believe it (the game) is there for the taking.

“I look at the Newcastle squad and very few players would I worry about taking into Everton’s squad, so I fully expect us to win the game.

“I’m sure the lads will come here fully confident because although Newcastle have picked up in recent weeks, this is still a very difficult place for them to play in front of, if we get the first goal and put a bit of pressure on them.”
