Ayoze Perez says he has a surprise for Newcastle fans in the next few days..
The Newcastle striker used his Twitter account to thank the fans for their support and says that Tyneside feels like home, even though his family and Tenefife are many miles away.
Perez claims that despite the rubbish results on the pitch, ‘we’ have learnt ‘good things’ and that they have to be used to help the team live up to the support of the fans.
The Spanish striker says that even when things ‘were not good’ the supporters are amazing.
Signing off with wishing a much better year for ‘the Geordie family’, Ayoze Perez says that he has prepared ‘a surprise’ in the next few days for the Newcastle fans.
I would have thought the assumption of most fans will be a new contract for the Spanish maestro, though experience has told us not to take anything for granted.
Despite clearly being one of Newcastle’s best players, Steve McClaren has chosen Ayoze Perez only 12 times to start in the first 19 Premier League matches, plus he has subbed him in half of those.
The worry is that if a decent club did make a market value bid, what would Ayoze Perez do then, especially when McClaren doesn’t see him as an automatic first choice.
‘The year is almost finished and is time to think about what we have done during this 12 months.
I know that this year have not been the best for the team but despite the bad results, we have learnt good things and we have to use it in the next year to live up to the support that you, our fans, give us every day.
Even when the things were not good for us your support was amazing.
Thanks for your support because I feel like home even I’m miles and miles away from my family and my island.
Here’s to a successful year for the Geordie family!
PS: I’m preparing a surprise, in the next few days you will know it!
Howay the lads!
