The bookies make Newcastle one of favourites as David Moyes’ next club
David Moyes was sacked as manager of Real Sociedad after Friday night’s defeat at fellow strugglers Las Palmas.
The former Everton and Manchester United boss leaves the Spanish club in 16th place in La Liga, only two points off the bottom.
Newcastle United have regularly been linked with David Moyes during Mike Ashley’s reign, with the perception being that the United owner admires the number of players he brought in at Everton on a budget and moulded them into a relatively successful team.
With the likes of relegation candidates Villa and Sunderland recently picking up new managers, who are the bookies making favourites to be David Moyes’ next job?
Well you have to say that most of the clubs named, suggest that his stock has fallen a little bit since being head-hunted from Goodison for Old Trafford.
A few of the bookies are offering odds and these were the lowest prices on each club, Newcastle being third favourites:
3/1 Leeds
4/1 Swansea
5/1 Newcastle United
6/1 Celtic
10/1 QPR
16/1 Blackburn
16/1 Hull
16/1 Any MLS club
If Newcastle had lost on Saturday then you have to think the speculation linking David Moyes with Newcastle would have potentially been at fever pitch.
Hard to see him going to basket case Leeds United with little cash to spend, Swansea are an interesting one though if Garry Monk gets the bullet.
As for Newcastle United…?
