Steve McClaren ‘If we perform well we have got a chance at Bournemouth’
Steve McClaren says that Newcastle have got ‘a chance’ if they ‘perform well’ at Bournemouth on Saturday.
The United Head Coach obviously keen on not been accused of shouting the odds…
The reality though is that Steve McClaren must surely be saying to his players that they need to beat Bournemouth.
The south coast team have seen a series of key players ruled out with injury, have conceded 12 goals in their last three matches and picked up only one point from their last 15.
Steve McClaren may want to build up Eddie Howe as a future England Manager but that is all a bit of an irrelevance.
As McClaren also says, just like Newcastle…Bournemouth will be looking at tomorrow as a massive opportunity to get back on track.
Steve McClaren:
“I have the greatest respect for Eddie Howe. How he has got Bournemouth up is remarkable and he could be a future England manager.
“This is an opportunity for us but Bournemouth will also be saying the same. We’ve got to make sure we’re focussed and ready.
“We’ve got a tough away game but if we perform well we have got a chance (at Bournemouth).”
