Steve McClaren.

After all the boasts this week of sorting things behind the scenes.

Players giving a positive reaction when called to account.

McClaren saying that this as been the best week in training so far.

The players had come together and were determined to fight for each other, pride in the shirt and whatever other lies we were told…

Crystal Palace 5 Newcastle 1 and Steve McClaren post-match:

“When we get disappointments, can we recover…we are not doing. We have to find a solution to that.

“It is not about systems, it is about attitude, about fight, about running backwards as quickly as you run forwards…but when the third goal went in that went down.”

“We made individual errors, the killer goal was the fourth. We wanted a reaction, I think we got that. The players were focused, we made some errors.”

“It is about working for each other, winning your duels and after the third goal we didn’t do that, we can’t have that, it is disappointing.

“We have to bring the fans what they want and that is not it.

“We have 25 games to go, we are in a relegation fight, no doubt about that, but we have to work hard on the training field.

“We are not getting over the disappointments. Don’t go down, keep fighting, do your jobs.”
