Finnish striker Mauro Severino has scored a hat-trick for Newcastle in a behind closed doors match.

The 16 year old is on trial at Newcastle with it being off-season for league football in Finland, where he plays club football in the third tier with TPV.

According to the striker, he scored a hat-trick as a young Newcastle team beat Blackpool Under 18s 4-3.

Finnish journalist Petri Lahti sent out a message on Twitter earlier this week saying that Severino was spending time at Newcastle United so they can have a look at him.

Mauro Severino scored once in the season just ended, starting only two games and coming on as a sub in a handful of others.

TPV finished fourth out of 10, with the Finnish third tier organised on a regional basis with four separate divisions.

As a 15 year old, Severino made a number of substitute appearances the season before last for TPV and scored twice in the league.
