Adam Armstrong made it a sensational 12 goals in 14 matches for Coventry City on Tuesday night.
The Geordie striker struck in the 18th and 52nd minutes to grab his fifth brace of the season and it is teasing to think just how many he could score if he is given the whole season at Coventry.
The latest goals came in a 4-3 cracking game against Barnsley, with Joe Cole also scoring for the Sky Blues – his first for the club.
If you watch the goals below, you will see Adam Armstrong connects so sweetly with the first one, then shows great movement, pace and coolness to net the second.
The only respite for League One defences has been the international breaks which have led to missed club matches this season.
The latest goals helped the Sky Blues to three points and they are now fourth top with only one point between themselves and league leaders Walsall.
The Geordie forward is now the leading scorer across all four divisions.
No wonder there is much debate amongst Newcastle fans around the subject of whether or not he should be recalled.
The consensus appears to be that it is imperative for his longer term development, for Adam Armstrong to stay out on loan.
Like many other fans I’m hoping that by taking this approach we can all look forward to a sensational Newcastle United Geordie striker of the future, doing the business in the Premier League for his hometown club.
