There is seemingly no escape from Mike Ashley.
His ever expanding and diversifying empire means that it gets ever harder to not give money to him in some way, unless you want to live in a cardboard box and never ever buy any goods or services again.
His latest acquisition is buying a stake in the Goals Soccer Centres, meaning if you play football there you will pouring a few more shekels into Mike Ashley’s pocket.
The Newcastle United owner has bought a 4.9% stake in the football centre operator, investing just under £4m via Sports Direct.
Goals Soccer released a statement on Monday morning confirming the move by Ashley and following that news, shares in the company rose by almost 5% in early trading.
Whilst it is still a profitable company, Goals Soccer reported that they had been hit by customers cancelling bookings at its 46 centres and going on holiday instead.
If you want to give Mike Ashley a bit more of your hard earned, Goals Soccer have local centres at Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Newcastle (Gosforth).
