Steve McClaren has given an update on four Newcastle injuries on Friday afternoon.

Speaking ahead of the game at Crystal Palace on Saturday, McClaren confirmed that as expected Karl Darlow would be in the squad after successfully coming through the reserve match earlier this week.

The one real bit of positive surprise news is that Jack Colback is fit enough to travel to London for tomorrow’s game.

However, McClaren says that Cheick Tiote misses after being forced off with injury against Leicester.

Desperate times at the minute and it remains to be seen just how fit Colback is and whether he can start, or will go on the bench.

With strong rumours of Yoan Gouffran playing there against Palace, McClaren must be weighing up the risks of what to do with Jack Colback.

On the negative side, the United Head Coach also revealed that Massadio Haidara is not only missing Saturday’s game but faces yet another operation, the full-back having surgery on his knee and expected to be missing for at least four months.

Earlier, Pardew’s assistant Keith Millen confirmed that Bakary Sako and Dwight Gayle would both miss the game due to injury.
